Following an invitation to observe the early general elections scheduled for 1 November 2022, based on the findings and conclusions of the Needs Assessment Mission conducted between 12 and 14 October 2022, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Expert Team (EET) for these elections.
The ODIHR EET is composed of two international staff drawn from two OSCE participating States.
The expert team will assess the election process in terms of its compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards for democratic elections, as well as national legislation. Observers will focus on the campaign environment and the political party and campaign finance regulations.
In line with ODIHR methodology, the ODIHR EET will not carry out systematic or comprehensive observation of the voting, counting and tabulation on election day. The ODIHR Expert Team members will, however, visit a small number of polling stations on election day.
A final report will be issued approximately two months after the end of the electoral process.
