Following an invitation from the authorities of the Republic of Bulgaria to observe the early parliamentary elections scheduled for 9 June 2024, and in accordance with its mandate, ODIHR has deployed an Election Expert Team (EET) for these elections.
The mission will assess the elections for their compliance with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards, as well as with national legislation. Observers will, in particular, look into administration of elections, assess electoral legal framework, the conduct of the campaign, campaign finance as well as media environment and media coverage of the election. They will also assess how prior ODIHR election-related recommendations have been implemented.
The mission will visit a limited number of polling stations on election day and systematic observation of voting, counting or tabulation of results on election days is not envisaged.
A final report on the observation, including potential recommendations, will be published approximately some months after the end of the election process.
