Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Palaver
Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Rasism, Xenophobia and Discrimination, also focusing on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians and Members of Other Religions
Wolfgang Palaver is Professor Emeritus of Catholic Social Thought at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, where he taught from 2002 until 2023 and served as Dean of the Catholic Theological Faculty from 2013 to 2017. Currently, he teaches Catholic Social Thought at the Philosophical-Theological College of Brixen/Bressanone, Italy.
He is an expert on the relationship between violence and religion, as well as Christian peace ethics. For many years, he has also been engaged in interreligious dialogue at both local and international levels. Internationally, he has participated in Christian-Muslim dialogue. Additionally, he is the president of the Austrian section of the International Catholic Peace Movement Pax Christi.
