Thomas Lenk
Ambassador Thomas Lenk is the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transdniestrian Settlement Process.
He joined the German Foreign Service in 1994. After an assignment in the office of the Deputy Foreign Minister, he had postings in Kigali, Kyiv, Tokyo, and Vienna/OSCE.
He also served as a Political Advisor to the EU Special Representative for Central Asia in 2009–2010 and to the OSCE Special Representative in the Trilateral Contact Group in Kyiv and Minsk in 2014–2015.
At the German MFA, he dealt with European Security and Defense Policy, parliamentary affairs and the post-Soviet space. During the German OSCE Chairmanship in 2016, he managed the team dealing with regional issues.
In 2017, he was appointed head of the Economic Department at the German Embassy in Paris. Back at the German MFA in 2020, he first served as Director for Central Europe, then as Director for Ukraine, Moldova and Black Sea Cooperation, before taking up his present function.
