Saara-Sofia Sirén
Saara-Sofia Sirén (1986) is a third-term Member of the Finnish Parliament dedicated to advancing equality and sustainable development. She currently chairs the Employment and Equality Committee, in addition to her other parliamentary work. She is also a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Sirén has played a pivotal role in promoting gender equality and human rights through her leadership in various positions of trust, including her tenure as President of the National Council of Women of Finland. In recent years, she has also served, for example, as a member of the Advisory Board for International Human Rights and as Chair of the jury for the International Gender Equality Prize (2023).
With a robust academic foundation, Sirén holds a Master of Economic Sciences in Economics and Business Administration, specializing in International Business, and a Master of Arts in Futures Studies. Her work reflects a strong dedication to building a more equitable society.
