The aim of this Project is to support a more effective judicial response to high level corruption and organized crime in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.
Under this project, the Presence will monitor selected court cases in line with the OSCE/ODIHR trial monitoring methodology tailored for this project, and supporting the implementation of proposed policy measures by relevant stakeholders.
Akvile Normantiene, Political Affairs Officer of the EU Delegation: Montenegro’s progress in accession negotiations the EU will be determined by progress on rule of law and in particular the ability to demonstrate a solid track record of fighting corruption and organised crime.
The project aims to strengthen the rule of law in Kosovo by supporting effective processing of organized crime and corruption cases. Results will be made public in late 2023.
Ambassador David Geer, Head of the EU Delegation: The criminal justice system has a critical role to play in combatting corruption and organised crime. This project aims to support such efforts by establishing a system of trial monitoring designed to identify systemic weaknesses in the management of cases within the criminal justice system.
