Семинар по применению стандартов Стамбульского протокола для всех категорий медицинских работников пенитенциарных учреждений Кыргызстана был организован Центром ОБСЕ в Бишкеке 27 февраля 2012 года. Двадцать докторов из всех закрытых исправительных учреждений страны изучали Протокол, в котором определены стандарты медицинского документирования в ходе осмотра новых заключенных, включая регистрирование признаков пыток и жестокого обращения. Семинар организован как продолжение встречи в формате круглого стола на тему применения Протокола, которая состоялась 22 февраля 2012 года.
