A seminar for the medical staff of penitentiary institutions in Kyrgyzstan on the implementation of the Istanbul Protocol standards, held by the OSCE Centre in Bishkek, 27 February 2012. Twenty doctors, from all closed-type prisons in the country, learned about the Protocol, which sets international standards for medical documentation during the examination of new inmates, including registering torture and ill-treatment. The seminar is a follow-up to a roundtable discussion on the Protocol, held on 22 February 2012.
