OSCE Office supports Armenia’s governance reform
Centralised data transfer system, measures to implement state labour oversight, control of technical security were discussed at the Inter-agency Inspection Reform Council held in Yerevan on 6 March 2012 with the OSCE Office’s participation.
The Council was established in 2011 and is chaired by the Prime Minister. It consists of representatives of responsible authorities and business associations and aims to reduce cumbersome requirements and lengthy inspection procedures at 26 oversight bodies and agencies in Armenia.
The OSCE, as well as other members of international community, such as the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development support activities of the Council’s Secretariat. This initiative is meant to facilitate the dialogue between the Government and the donor community in order to enhance good economic governance and reduce corruption loopholes through the gradual simplification of administrative procedures for doing business in Armenia.
Promoting good governance is a priority for the OSCE Irish Chairmanship in 2012. The OSCE Office in Yerevan for many years has been helping Armenia’s Government to modernize its administrative and regulatory regime to facilitate good governance reforms.
