Early warning and early action

The Centre is the OSCE-wide focal point for early warning. It collects, collates, and analyses information from different sources and advises the Secretary General and the Chairmanship on possible response options in the case of an emerging crisis. It also co-ordinates the dispatch of needs assessment or fact-finding teams to the field, as well as the use of the Organization’s roster for the rapid deployment of staff in urgent situations.
