Dialogue Instruments for Effective Decision-Making in Communities: In-person Trainings

The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine supports the development of a community of Ukrainian dialogue practitioners and offers an opportunity to community leaders to participate in one of the series of in-person trainings "Dialogue Instruments in Developing Effective Decisions in Communities". Motivated candidates from local government, self-government bodies or civil society organizations are invited to apply for the trainings that take place according to the following schedule:
19 – 21 February 2020 in Odesa (application deadline: 10 February 2020)
24 – 26 February 2020 in Kyiv (application deadline: 13 February 2020)
26 – 28 February 2020 in Kharkiv (application deadline: 17 February 2020)
2 – 4 March 2020 in Kyiv (application deadline: 20 February 2020)
4 – 6 March 2020 in Lviv (application deadline: 23 February 2020)
The training will provide:
- practical skills needed to prepare and hold discussions, meetings, consultations to resolve problems and conflict situations of local importance;
- practice of communicative techniques to reconcile differences of opinion of all parties involved and establish mutual understanding among them;
- mastering the tools of developing and implementing collaborative decisions in communities in the most effective and engaging way.
Training participants will obtain certificates in case they have achieved at least 90% attendance of the training.
Selection criteria
To apply for a training, applicants must:
- work in local government, self-government bodies or a civil society organizations. Preference is given to applicants from Donetsk, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kherson and Odesa Oblasts;
- hold either a certificate "Basics of Dialogue Organization" or “Basics of Dialogue Facilitation” of the online course “How to Effectively Plan and Conduct Dialogue” of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine;
- demonstrate an intention to practice the gained knowledge and skills to promote dialogue in resolving and preventing conflicts and problems arising in their local communities and beyond.
The OSCE seeks balanced participation of women and men from different regions of Ukraine, regardless of their religious, ethnic and social background.
Training-related expenses
Travel expenses will be reimbursed for participants from other cities to and from the training venue within the “coupe”, “InterCity 2 class” or bus fare. The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine provides accommodation and meals over the period of a training.
