The Rights of Detainees at Temporary Detention Centers

This publication reviews the rules of conduct at temporary detention centres operated by the Department of Public Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. The publication also examines the norms and standards of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and other Forms of Ill-Treatment and Punishment. The publication is of interest to those who are held in detention centres of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, police officers, employees of other law-enforcement agencies, civil servants and local government officials, human rights activists, scholars and teachers at higher education institutions, as well as all those interested in the problems of detention on remand.
