OSCE organizes training for trainers in Istanbul on authenticity verification of security documents
From 23 to 27 September 2024, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) and the Republic of Türkiye Gendarmerie Forensic Department collaborated to conduct a one-week practical Training for Trainers on "Authenticity Verification of Security Documents." The training took place in Istanbul, Türkiye and aimed to enhance the skills of five trainers from the Tajik Border Troops.
During the practical segment of the Training for Trainers, participants received instruction on best practices for security document verification and border control from experts at the Gendarmerie Forensic Department, Gendarmerie General Command, Gendarmerie Forensic Laboratory, and the state printing house.
The practical session focused on "Authenticity Verification of Security Documents" in Türkiye, known for its advanced technology in identifying forged travel documents. This session concluded the theoretical training, which aimed to enhance operational awareness and skills of border security and management officers to detect forged documents at border crossing points in Tajikistan. The training aimed to empower the participants to independently conduct future training on identifying forged documents in the Tajik Border Troops Training Centers.
During the graduation ceremony, participants expressed sincere gratitude to the OSCE POiD for organizing and conducting the training course at a high level. They emphasized the importance of collaborating with other border and law enforcement agencies to enhance resources and support for identifying forgeries, and acknowledged the valuable role of OSCE POiD in enhancing the human capacity of border troops.
