Water and Energy: Access to electricity – a path to a sustainable development
18 June 2024
The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) has a long-standing commitment to supporting Tajikistan in advancing its water and energy sectors, as well as improving the lives of the local population. One of the POiD’s prominent contributions has been the installation of solar panels in remote areas of the country where there is no electricity and plans to connect areas to the power grid at the present moment. Within the project on water management and energy security, which was implemented during the 2019-2022, the POiD facilitated the installation of 211 solar panels at over 203 households, 6 schools, one hospital and one mosque covering 16 rural villages of Tajikistan’s 4 regions. This video is a testimony of how small steps can bring positive changes leading to the enhancement of social economic situation of the local population.
