Pierre Baussand

Since 1 May 2023, Pierre Baussand is managing day-to-day wok of the OSCE Secretariat Extra-Budgetary Support Programme for Ukraine, he is permanently based in Kyiv. 

After missions in Kosovo and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this is Pierre’s third assignment with the OSCE. He has a 20-year work experience in the field of human rights at national and European level.  He spent 17 years in the capital of the European Union working on improving EU laws for the defense of human, economic and social rights in order to improve people’s lives on the ground.

Pierre started his career with the French Foreign Service, and has long experience working at the highest political levels with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU. For 7 years he participated in the meetings of the EU ministers on employment and social affairs. 

Mr. Baussand holds a Master degree in Political Sciences from Sciences Po Lyon -which included a year abroad at Georgetown University (USA) - and holds a degree in Journalism.
