National minorities analyst

The national minorities analyst monitors and analyses the participation of national minorities in an election, as voters, candidates, and election administrators. This involves meeting with national minority candidates, party activists and electoral administrators, and with representatives of national minorities.

In countries with national minorities, the ODIHR may include a dedicated national minorities analyst on the core team of an observation mission. In cases where there is no dedicated analyst, there is always one member of the core team who has the responsibility for monitoring issues related to national minorities, usually the political analyst.
