The Concluding Meeting of the 31st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum dedicated to “Enhancing security and stability in the OSCE region through digital innovation, contributing to sustainable development and climate adaptation” will take place at the Czernin Palace, Loretánské nám. 5, 118 00 Prague, on 12-13 September 2024 and will focus on the following topics:
- Addressing risks to sustainable economic development in light of the digital transition, thereby promoting stability and security in the OSCE region
- Harnessing technological advancements to address the economic, environmental and social impacts of climate change, which may negatively affect prosperity, stability and security
- The importance of good governance policies and frameworks for economic growth, innovation and sustainable development, contributing to stability and security
The Concluding Meeting of the 31st OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum is organized by the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, under the guidance of Malta’s OSCE Chairpersonship 2024.
The two-day event will consist of welcoming remarks, opening session, three working sessions and a concluding session.
The Economic and Environmental Forum is the main meeting-cycle within the Economic and Environmental Dimension of the OSCE. Its objectives are to identify needs and priorities, to raise awareness and to stimulate the political will of the 57 OSCE participating States in dealing with economic, environmental and security related challenges, to share best practices, as well as to provide a platform for dialogue with representatives of International Organizations, the business and academic communities, and civil society.
The Concluding Meeting of the 31st OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities builds upon the results from the two Preparatory Meetings held in Vienna on 29-30 April 2024, and in St Julian’s, Malta, on 19-20 June 2024.
