OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities
An independent institution of the OSCE, the HCNM was established in 1992 with a mandate to provide early warning and early action where possible tensions related to national minorities could spark conflicts between or within States.
Today’s world is increasingly multilingual and multicultural. What does this world look like for you and your schoolmates? What role does education play? How culturally diverse is your school and what is your experience with it? Does education transform diversity into an opportunity?
Join us in raising awareness about the role of education in preventing conflicts by telling us your video story about diversity in your school.
The three best videos will receive a prize and also be presented in the course of the anniversary celebration in The Hague, Netherlands on 20-21 April 2016. Submitted videos will also be placed on the website of the HCNM and other related websites.
Education is required not only to provide strictly academic and technical training but it is also required to inculcate such values as tolerance, pluralism, anti-racism and international and inter-communal harmony.
