In October 2017, the OSCE Mission to Moldova will organize a three-day intensive workshop on cross-boundary investigative journalism. The workshop will focus on equipping journalism students and young journalists with cross-boundary investigative reporting skills in order to enhance their ability to collaborate on investigative journalism projects with journalists from different country areas. During the three-day workshop, the participants will gain knowledge about how to work with journalists across boundaries to collect and apply data from different sources, and will study examples of how such cross-boundary/border investigative journalism works in practice.
The workshop will be conducted by one international expert and one local media expert with expertise in cross-boundary reporting.
Eight of the best students in the workshop will be invited to take part in a study-trip to Tbilisi, Georgia to strengthen their practical understanding of how independent media outlets co-operate across boundaries.
The OSCE Mission to Moldova is looking for 20 motivated journalism students and young journalists in Balti, Chisinau, Comrat and Tiraspol who would want to receive the knowledge and skills in cross-boundary investigative journalism.
If you want to apply, please fill in the application form and send it together with your CV to Ecaterina.Leuca@osce.org with “Journalism Workshop” in the subject line until 14 September 2017.
All participants who successfully complete the workshop will be awarded a certificate issued by the OSCE Mission to Moldova.
The languages of the workshop will be Romanian, Russian and English with simultaneous translation.
Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the organizer for selected participants.
Only successful candidates will be contacted regarding their participation in the workshop.
The workshop is part of “Building Confidence Across the Media Divide” project implemented by the Mission this year. The aim of the project is to build confidence and provide opportunities for future co-operation between journalists and future journalists on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River.
