Building Safer Communities: Addressing Extremism and Radicalization through Awareness and Collaboration
Extremism and radicalization are pressing challenges for both individuals and communities. To address this, the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, in collaboration with the Kosovo Police, organized an awareness-raising event on identifying early signs of extremism and radicalization within families.
The activity aimed to educate women on recognizing early signs of extremism and other negative phenomena including drug abuse, and available support mechanisms, and fostering discussions on community safety, crime prevention, and women’s empowerment. Teachers, psychologists, and members of the Local Public Safety Committee shared insights, and practical solutions to enhance community safety.
The event underscored the importance of collaboration between local institutions, police, and activists to create safer, more supportive environments for young people.
