OSCE Centre in Tashkent trains women in advocacy work

TASHKENT, 13 May 2004 - The second phase of an OSCE project aimed at increasing the participation of women in Uzbekistan's civil society is being launched today with a five-day workshop in the capital.
The training scheme on capacity building for women in advocacy brings together 20 participants from civil society.
It is part of a project on women's participation in political and public life, run by the OSCE Centre in Tashkent, which aims to advance the training and lobbying capacities of women NGOs.
Among the topics of the workshop are trainers' skills and methodologies in preparing training modules on advocacy, developing and conducting public awareness campaigns, as well as monitoring and the evaluation of advocacy campaigns.
The first part of the training was held in October 2003.
