OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan trains law enforcement police officers on detecting and investigating human trafficking
TASHKENT, 30 April 2015 - A three-day course on the identifying and investigating human trafficking cases with participation of 25 police agents and investigators working at airports and railway stations and representing the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs ended on 28 April.
“This course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge on addressing and managing the threats of human trafficking. It aims to protect human lives through enhancing the professional skills of officers responsible for security and transport safety,” said OSCE Project Co-ordinator Ambassador Gyorgy Szabo.
The course is delivered by UK experts and focuses on current practices in major investigative approaches to human trafficking, special investigative techniques and operational experiences, including preparing for a screening interview with a potential victim as well as methods for collecting supporting evidence.
The training course is part of a long-standing commitment of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator to assist Uzbekistan in countering the trafficking in human beings.
