Civil code commentaries
The Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan entered into force on 1 March 1997 and has since then not been revised or commented. However, a commentary is a precondition to successful and adequate application of legal norms described in the Code in everyday life. There is indeed a need for changes and improvement of many regulations in the Code that directly influence the economic life of the host country, such as property issues, mortgages and deposits, state contracts, intellectual property rights and other items and other items that are necessary for a proper functioning market economy. The commentary for the Code will further help to identify those issues as well as see where overlaps and discrepancies with other legal and normative acts occur, which hamper not only legal proceedings but also economic development in the country.
