A series of seminars for teachers of journalism ethics and practicing journalists started on 19 September 2011 in Kyiv as part of a joint project of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the country’s Journalist Ethics Commission.
The two-day seminars, which will be held in several regions of Ukraine, will raise issues of professional ethical standards and self-regulation, as well as how to improve journalists’ ethics education in Ukraine.
The Journalist Ethics Commission will present a practical handbook that includes case studies involving violations of ethical standards, and which will serve as a guide for lectures on journalism ethics at Ukrainian universities.
The next seminars will take place in Lviv (22-23 September), Zaporizhya (10-11 October) and Donetsk (13-14 October).
