OSCE SMM expands its presence in Eastern Ukraine
17 January 2016
The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) is increasing its presence in eastern Ukraine, both in terms of increased numbers on the ground and in terms of wider geographical scope.
On 14-17 January the OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug opened new Forward Patrol Bases in Krasnoarmiisk, Svitlodarsk (Donetsk region) and Stanytsia Luhanska (Luhansk region). On 14 January a camera went into operation in Shyrokyne, allowing us a 24/7, 360° view.
