OSCE Office in Tajikistan supports charity event for children with disabilities to mark International Children’s Day
To mark International Children’s Day on 1 June 2016, the OSCE Office in Tajikistan supported charity events for children with disabilities in Dushanbe and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
Supporting the Office in organizing these events were the Imkoniyat charity organization in Dushanbe and the Nigina public organization in GBAO.
Nigina organized a ‘Holiday on Wheels’ event in one of the remote villages of the Roshtkala district in GBAO, which was the first of its kind held in this areas which has among the country’s lowest living standards. During the event, some 200 children aged from six to eleven, participated in competitions on drawing, face painting, karaoke as well as various tournaments. The OSCE Office in Tajikistan provided its support in purchasing and distributing the gifts for them.
In Dushanbe, with the support of the OSCE Office, Imkoniyat conducted cultural and recreational activities for some 100 children with special needs.
