OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Steinmeier visits OSCE Office in Tajikistan

The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Germany’s Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited Tajikistan and the OSCE Office on 1 April 2016. As part of his official tour of the region the Minister addressed border officials from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participating in a course at the OSCE Border Management Staff College, presenting Germany's priorities during its OSCE Chairmanship in 2016.

Steinmeier took the opportunity to see practical exercises organized by the OSCE Office in Tajikistan for instructors working in explosive hazards reduction and response from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the United States.

Steinmeier also participated in a roundtable discussion on radicalization with representatives of civil society in Tajikistan. The participants discussed the causes of radicalization and counter-measures.
