International Law Summer Academy

Organized by
Investing into professional development of youth, into young professionals’ better understanding of values and tools of democracy and rule of law remains of special value in times of war. The OSCE Secretariat Extra-Budgetary Support Programme for Ukraine together with the country’s Supreme Court organised for students and postgraduates from Ukrainian universities and think-tanks the International Law Summer Academy.
The event will provide an opportunity for up to 30 students to review in details topical issues of international law, challenges faced in connection with the war waged against Ukraine, as well as the development of the national legal system in the light of the European integration of Ukraine.
Prominent experts in international law, European law, legal theory and philosophy will deliver lectures and presentations as part of the Academy, among them - judges of the Supreme Court, European Court of Human Rights, experts of international organizations, prominent local and international scholars and legal practitioners.

Selection of in-person participants:
Application for the Academy is open for students of law, but also those studying other humanities, such as international relations, political sciences, sociology, philosophy, and others. The deadline for application is 25 July 2023, by 23:59 Kyiv time.
