OSCE Mission to Skopje supports Ombudsman Institution in dealing with discrimination cases
Advancing the capacities of the Ombudsman Unit for Prevention from Discrimination through training is a new element introduced to the OSCE Ombudsman Support Project.
An agreement was signed in Skopje on 2 February 2012 for this project, which started back in 2009, to be continued in 2012 with the help of the OSCE Mission to Skopje and support from Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
It will include basic and advanced training of the staff from Ombudsman’s special Unit for Equitable Representation and Prevention of Discrimination. The training courses delivered by domestic and international experts will cover such themes as identification of discrimination, grounds of discrimination, and manners or redress.
The Project will also include holding roundtables and production of printed material to promote nation-wide the Ombudsman’s role on protection from discrimination.
