International Women's Day round table in Skopje
SKOPJE 7 March 2001
SKOPJE, 7 March 2001 - A round table on the occasion of International Women's Day will be on Thursday, 8 March, starting at at 9.00 hrs at the Hotel Holiday Inn, Skopje, former Yugoslav Republic of Madecdonia.
Topics will be violence against women, poverty and women, and women in politics. The aim is to provide a forum for debate and promoting the advancement of women in society.
The contributions of experts followed by a discussion will make the event an occasion of intellectual and social significance.
The organizers include several women's' organizations and offices. Women's NGOs from all over the country, as well as Government bodies and International Organizations are invited. The round table is supported by the Council of Europe, the Office of the Canadian Embassy, the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje.
