OSCE Mission to Skopje donates training equipment to support development of Border Police
SKOPJE, 15 December 2006 - The OSCE Mission to Skopje today donated modern special training equipment to the Border Police to help it improve its training and operations.
The equipment, worth 50,000 euro, will be used in the Border Police Regional Centres training centres and the Border Police Central Services. It will help the service decentralize and improve its training and briefings on operational matters.
"The OSCE remains committed to supporting the development of the Border Police," Philip Tolson, Head of OSCE Mission's Police Development Unit said at the handover ceremony.
"The effective use of the new technologies will improve the training capacities of all Border Police Regional Centres and will support the Border Police in-service training throughout the country."
Marinko Kocovski, Director Assistant Chief General Inspector within the Interior Ministry's Sector for Border Affairs said the donation would improve the Border Police's functioning in the field, particularly in remote areas.
