OSCE Mission to Skopje trains police officers on combatting terrorist organizations
The OSCE Mission to Skopje is organizing a training course on combatting terrorist organizations that are linked to religious extremists, from 19 to 23 August 2013.
The five-day training course organized at the Interior Ministry’s Police Training Center in Idrizovo, Skopje, brings together 25 participants from the Ministry’s Administration for Security and Counter Intelligence and regional Sectors for Internal Affairs.
The course is delivered by three Turkish National Police experts.
Participants will learn about the causes and the process of radicalization in terrorist organizations and ways to prevent it. They will assess risks, discuss the role of intelligence in the prevention of radicalization and examine case studies on suicide attacks.
The training course is meant to help the participants to more easily identify persons who can potentially belong to terrorist organizations, and to better understand the concept of ‘de-radicalization’ of militants.
