OSCE Mission to Skopje launches project to support access to public information
An OSCE-supported project aimed at to raising awareness among citizens about the work of local authorities through improved access to information started in Skopje on 23 April 2013. The project prepares civil servants in multiethnic municipalities throughout the country on how to better disseminate information of public interest in a timely and accurate manner.
The project also includes training for members of the public administration, representatives of civil society and the media on topics related to access to public information.
Six two-day training workshops will be held throughout the year involving 41 multiethnic municipalities in order to encourage municipal administration staff to provide unrestricted access to public information to all members of society, regardless of their age, profession, cultural identity, religion or gender.
The project is supported by the OSCE Mission to Skopje and implemented in partnership with the National Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information.
