OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier visited Paris for consultations on 23 July 2013. He met French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and other senior French officials to discuss challenges in the OSCE region.
The discussions touched upon various issues, including the role of the OSCE in the implementation of the recent Pristina-Belgrade agreement, the situation in Central Asia and Afghanistan in the light of the 2014 withdrawal, the settlement of protracted conflicts of the OSCE area, as well as on the Helsinki+40 process and efforts to adapt the Organization to new security challenges.
Zannier’s agenda included meetings with a range of senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, members of the French Delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly led by Senator Alain Neri, and with Christian Lechervy, Strategic Affairs Adviser to the President of the French Republic.
