BELGRADE 28 May 2004
BELGRADE, 28 May 2004 - The OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro strongly condemned the murder of the Editor-in-Chief and owner of Dan Newspaper, Dusko Jovanovic, in Podgorica late last night.
The Head of the OSCE Mission, Ambassador Maurizio Massari, extended his condolences to the family and friends and called on the Montenegrin authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice. "There can be no free society without a free media. And there is no free media if journalists have to work in an atmosphere of violence and fear," he said.
