OSCE Mission announces internship programme in Belgrade

BELGRADE, 6 October 2003 - The second generation of 65 interns will tomorrow begin a nine-month placement in the Assembly of Serbia and Montenegro, the National Assembly of Serbia and selected ministries of the Serbian government.
Supported by the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, this internship programme is aimed at providing expert support to parliamentarians and staff employed in parliamentary committees and ministries. It also aims to provide interns with inside knowledge of legislative and executive institutions.
The programme will begin with a four-day induction course organized by the Faculty of Political Science, in co-operation with the OSCE Mission, the Assembly of Serbia and Montenegro and the National Assembly of Serbia.
Media representatives are invited to the opening of the Induction Programme at 09:30 on Tuesday, 7 October, at the Faculty of Political Science (Jove Ilica 165).
In attendance will be Professor Mijat Damjanovic, Hannelore Valier, Head of the Democratization Department of the OSCE Mission and Gordana Comic, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia.
