OSCE Mission strongly condemns terrorist activity in southern Serbia

BELGRADE, 24 September 2003 - Ambassador Maurizio Massari, Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and Montenegro, strongly condemns terrorist activity near the southern Serbian village of Lucane this afternoon, which left one soldier injured.
"The OSCE Mission condemns this cowardly act of violence," said Ambassador Massari.
"The terrorists who carried out this act do not have the right to negatively affect stability in this multi-ethnic constituency. The OSCE Mission will do everything within its mandate to ensure that stability and security are maintained in southern Serbia."
Two soldiers travelling in a vehicle were caught in gunfire near the village of Lucane (near Bujanovac) this afternoon.
