OSCE launches photo competition in FRY on "fairness"
BELGRADE 11 October 2002
BELGRADE, 11 October 2002 - Tomorrow, the OSCE Mission to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia is launching a photo competition for all interested FRY nationals. An announcement will be made through advertisements in all the main national dailies, while B92 will broadcast, free of charge, a radio-jingle.
The theme chosen for the photo competition is "fairness", a subject selected not only because it is a key concept in a democratic society and therefore a central guideline in the OSCE's work, but also because it is a concept that can be interpreted creatively in many ways. All interested individuals, men and women, young and old, amateurs and professionals are invited to send in pictures that, to them, best express the concept of fairness.
The 50 best entries will be exhibited in the middle of November, allowing for the public to vote for the best pictures. A professional jury, with OSCE representation, will select a winner from amongst them.
One of the main prizes is a digital camera. In addition, the winning picture will be also be posted on billboards made available in selected cities by Europlakat and reprinted in the country's top professional photo magazine, Refoto.
Those interested in participating are invited to look in national papers or consult the OSCE Mission website (www.osce.org/yugoslavia) for further information and for technical details.
