OSCE Mission, Serbian Interior Ministry to host regional conference on combating organized crime

BELGRADE, 23 May 2007 - Enhancing regional co-operation and developing concrete measures to fight trans-national organized crime in the Western Balkans is the aim of a regional conference that opens in Belgrade tomorrow.
Organized by the Serbian Interior Ministry with the support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the two-day event, "Money Laundering, Asset Seizure and Asset Forfeiture in Relation to Drug Trafficking," will bring together local and international experts.
Participants will discuss cross-border co-operation and best practices in the field, and will share experiences related to investigating organized crime.
The Serbian Interior Minister, Dragan Jocic, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Hans Ola Urstad, will speak at the event.
Journalists are invited to attend the opening of the conference at 9.00, on Thursday, 24 May, at Hotel M, Bulevar oslobodjenja 56, Belgrade.
