Head of the OSCE Mission visits southwest Serbia
Between 21 and 23 September 2015, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ambassador Peter Burkhard, visited southwest Serbia where he met with local self-government, national minority, religious, and civil society organizations representatives in Novi Pazar and Sjenica. Discussions focused on the issues facing the Bosniak national minority and prospects for the region’s economic development, in particular in the field of agricultural development and eco-tourism. Burkhard got acquainted with youth perceptions on security in Novi Pazar, especially the role of the local Municipal Safety Council, at the meeting with some 30 representatives of the local youth NGO, the Union of High school Parliaments. During the visit, the OSCE team also went to see some of the most beautiful natural sceneries of this region – Lake Uvac.
