OSCE Men for Gender Equality
OSCE Men for Gender Equality fosters gender equality in the OSCE workplace by promoting equal treatment and opportunities for women and men and speaking out against gender-related inequalities. It also works to combat gender-based violence in the OSCE area.
Its members are staff from the OSCE Secretariat who are committed to acting as role models and taking tangible action together by:
- Promoting equal opportunities for female and male OSCE colleagues
- Ensuring that leaders in the OSCE promote an inclusive and bias-free work culture
- Creating effective structures of consultation among male and female OSCE colleagues
- Addressing personal and institutional practices that go against the principle of gender equality
- Fostering an environment in which constructive feedback is welcomed and implemented
- Working with women’s rights organizations to promote gender equality at the OSCE
- Raising awareness and funds to combat gender-based violence in the OSCE area
Secretariat colleagues interested in becoming members, raising a related issue, or sharing material to aid OSCEMen4GenderEquality in taking concrete action should contact men4genderequality@osce.org:
- We also strongly encourage male colleagues from OSCE missions and institutions to start their own group, and remain at their disposal for further information and advice.
- Colleagues from delegations to the OSCE interested in fostering gender quality should apply to join the OSCE Men Engage Network, a separate group to OSCE Men for Gender Equality.
Together we can guarantee the OSCE is maximizing the contribution of all of its valued staff, and ensure there are equal opportunities for representation and contribution of women and men at all levels and across all areas of expertise.
