OSCE website now available in six official languages
VIENNA, 30 June 2017 – The OSCE website (www.osce.org) is as of today available in all six of the Organization’s official languages – English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish, extending the OSCE’s outreach to millions more people across the world.
Over the course of the seven-month project, more than 120,000 translated words and 250 webpages were published. Information regarding the OSCE’s structure, history, areas of work, field operations and executive structures are among those translated from English into the five other official languages.
“In these times of division and mistrust, we’ve seen a huge rise in interest in the OSCE as a platform for dialogue, and the translation of the OSCE website into all of the Organization’s official languages aims to meet that growing demand from officials and citizens alike for information on who we are and what we do,” said OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. “Thanks to this impressive effort led by the OSCE Communication and Media Relations Section in co-operation with Language Services, more people will now have the chance to learn about the Organization and understand how they can contribute to its efforts to build stability and peace across the OSCE region.”
