OSCE Secretariat
Fostering co-operation
The OSCE works to bring border agencies, international organizations and security partnerships together. This has included border monitoring operations in Georgia from 1999 to 2004; the Ohrid Border Process, which between 2003 and 2007 established a framework for participating States to develop a coherent and concerted border security and management approach in south-eastern Europe, and the conduct of assessments and advice on strategic planning in south-eastern Europe, Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Recently much attention has been given to Central Asia and Afghanistan.
