The 2014 OSCE Security Days conference on The OSCE and Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter: Confronting Emerging Security Challenges in the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian Space offered a platform for a highly interactive dialogue on the Organization’s responsibilities – and opportunities – as a regional arrangement under Chapter VIII of the United Nations Charter in the contemporary security context.
Each session featured a dynamic, moderated panel discussion among high-level participants, with an opportunity for questions and answers from the audience, who included representatives of the 57 OSCE participating States, 11 Partner States, invited guests from international and regional organizations, research and academic institutions, media and young people. The conference took place at the Hofburg Congress Centre on 27 May 2014.
A Night Owl session was held in the evening for Security Days participants to engage with emerging leaders. Together with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the session looked at and discussed the perspectives of the next generation on security challenges.
