Video message on the occasion of World Press Freedom Day 2019

On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Harlem Désir, emphasizes that the quality of our democracies depends on the quality of our information, and on the existence of pluralistic and independent media. He also underlines that, while there is a clear need to combat the spread of false and manipulated information, we must ensure that this does not undermine freedom of expression or the free flow of information.
