Organization of Psychosocial Assistance to War Veterans and Their Family Members. Recommendations for Local Authorities
The purpose of this publication is to assist local self-government bodies at the level of territorial communities in organizing work on providing psychosocial assistance to war veterans and their family members. In order to restore and strengthen the mental health of war veterans, multisectoral actions are needed, which should involve not only state, but also local bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Local agencies and NGOs are in a better position to know the issues the veterans face, thus they understand their needs and can organize the provision of psychosocial assistance for them.
The recommendations were developed as a result of 2021 series of regional round tables "Organization in communities of social and psychological assistance to war veterans" held within the framework of the joint project of the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine and the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs of Ukraine. Available in Ukrainian.
