The OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine is opening a call for applications for the Summer School for young social workers and psychologists who want to learn about international best practices in social work and psychological assistance to children who have been victims or perpetrators of domestic violence.
During the four days, participants will have the opportunity to gain additional knowledge in the field of combating domestic violence, including new legislation, responding to cases of domestic violence against children, identification of victims, communication with children of different ages, social services and assistance to victims of domestic violence and the peculiarities of work with children who commit such violence.
Requirements for participants:
The Summer School is open to students of the 4th year of bachelor's degree, 1st or 2nd year of master's degree of higher educational institutions in the field related to social sphere and psychology, as well as for specialists in social sphere and psychologists who graduated from universities between 2018 and 2021.
After completing the Summer School, participants will be required to implement a small initiative in their city / region (for example, to conduct a mini-training, or information campaign, or social media campaign, etc.) within 1.5 months of completing the Summer School.
Application procedure:
Applicants will be selected on a competitive basis. The application must consist of:
- Completed application form https://forms.gle/bb4HgwmsXPE4XF9J6 ;
- Motivation letter (not more than 500 words) indicating the purpose of participation in the event and expectations from it;
- Preference will be given to candidates who pass the online course "HOME OF (IN)SECURITY" (the course is available on the EdEra website: https://nonviolence.ed-era.com/).
Application deadline is 22 July (inclusive). The results of the selection of successful candidates will be announced by 26 July 2021.
Event modalities:
Participation in the Summer School is free of charge. Travel expenses, accommodation and meals are covered by the organizers.
The summer school will be organized with due safety requirements and rules related to COVID-19 pandemic.
The working language of the school is Ukrainian.
Successful candidates will be additionally informed about the exact venue and other details of the Summer School.
