OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde visits Tajikistan and OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe
During her visit to the country, Chairperson Linde met with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin. She presented the priorities of the OSCE Chairpersonship and thanked Tajikistan for its close engagement with the OSCE. Minister Linde also expressed her appreciation for the strong support and constructive co-operation with the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe.
Linde visited one of the OSCE flagship initiatives, the Border Management Staff College, and praised the College’s continued commitment and dedication to enhancing border security and management across the Central Asian region and beyond.
The Chairperson met with the OSCE staff from the Programme Office in Dushanbe, as well as with civil society representatives. During the meeting with Tajik civil society representatives, she expressed the Chairpersonship’s support and noted the importance of their engagement in building a strong democratic society. It was also reiterated the Swedish Chairpersonship support for empowering civil society voice in this process.
