OSCE Youth Winter School in Tajikistan
6 April 2018
From 31 January to 4 February 2018, the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe held a Youth Winter School on expanding youth political participation for 33 university students from across Tajikistan - 17 men and 15 women. The event took place in Khoja Obigarm, some 50 kilometres north of Dushanbe.
During the four-and-a-half day event, participants learned about the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security and developed their skills in public speaking, negotiation and strategic planning. They discussed how to improve the participation of young people in the country’s political life and what support the OSCE can provide in this regard. They also discussed ways to increase the representation of youth in decision-making processes and explored possibilities for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2250/15 on Youth, Peace and Security in Tajikistan.
