OSCE supports study visit to Albania for representatives of Tajikistan’s border troops
6 April 2018
A delegation of the Tajik Border Troops led by the first Deputy of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan and Commander of the Tajik Border Troops, Colonel-General Rajabali Rahmonali, paid a visit to Albania from 24 to 28 March 2018. The visit was organized by the OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe and facilitated by the OSCE Presence in Albania.
Albania was chosen as the visit’s destination in view of its successful implementation of the Integrated Border Management System. The goal of the visit was to get first-hand information on the Albanian authorities’ implementation of the Integrated Border Management System and the regional co-operation in this area. The aim was also to learn from the Albanian authorities’ experience and best practices in transforming the border troops from a military force into a non-military law enforcement agency.
As part of its visit, the delegation visited the Albanian-Montenegro Shkoder/Muriqan shared border crossing point and observed joint border control there.
